CNN Producer: "Russia Story is Good for Business"

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/vi...t_ratings.html

In a video released overnight by 'Project Veritas' founder James O'Keefe, CNN producer John Bonifield is caught on film admitting that the network's constant coverage of the Trump-Russia narrative is "mostly bullshit" and "the president is probably right to say [CNN] is witch-hunting [him]."

He also noted the story is "good for business."

"I haven’t seen any good enough evidence to show that the President committed a crime," he said. "I just feel like they don’t really have it but they want to keep digging. And so I think the President is probably right to say, like, look you are witch hunting me. You have no smoking gun, you have no real proof."

The truth shall set you free.

Let's see if the forum's "false equivalency police" show up and take issue with this comment. I suspect not.

Here you go Mike, Wiki is your friend.
Quote:
James Edward O'Keefe III (born June 28, 1984) is an American conservative political activist.[2][3] He produces secretly recorded undercover audio and video encounters with figures and workers in academic, governmental and social service organizations, purporting to show abusive or allegedly illegal behavior by employees and/or representatives of those organizations. He has been criticized for editing videos to misrepresent the context of the subjects' responses.[4] He gained national attention for his video recordings of workers at ACORN offices in 2009, his arrest and guilty plea in 2010 for entering the federal office of then-U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) under false pretenses, and the release of videos of conversations with two high-ranking, now former, NPR executives in 2011.

When his videos portraying ACORN workers seemingly aiding a couple in criminal planning hit the 24-hour cable news cycle, the U.S. Congress quickly voted to freeze funds for the non-profit. The national controversy resulted in the non-profit also losing most of its private funding before investigations of the videos concluded no illegal activity occurred. In March 2010, ACORN was close to bankruptcy and had to close or rename most of its offices.[5] Shortly after, the California State Attorney General's Office and the US Government Accountability Office released their related investigative reports. The Attorney General's Office found that O'Keefe had misrepresented the actions of ACORN workers in California and that the workers had not broken any laws. A preliminary probe by the GAO found that ACORN had managed its federal funds appropriately.[6][7] One of the fired ACORN workers sued O'Keefe for invasion of privacy; O'Keefe issued an apology and agreed to pay $100,000 in a settlement.

O'Keefe gained support from conservative media and interest groups. In 2009, Andrew Breitbart commissioned him for the option to publish new videos exclusively on BigGovernment.com. In June 2010, O'Keefe formed a 501(c)(3) organization, Project Veritas, with the stated mission to "investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud and other misconduct."[8]

And that is just the begging of the article on this fascist dirtbag.

Why shouldn't the media witch-hunt Trump? After all, he asked for it and richly deserves everything that is lobbed at him. Basically a liar and a cheat in the eyes of most and even the office he holds cannot buffer him from public ridicule.

Veritas and O'keef have been repeatedly discredited as disinformation purveyers.

Was that before or after these jokers lost their jobs for confirming that Dems coordinate and pay for protests.

In any case, watch the video and see what the guy says, then make up your own mind.

No one should complain about media scrutiny. That should come with the office. However, if you're going to scrutinize, don't make it up and don't embellish news that has no factual basis.

The other way to say it: if Trump is really as bad as these folks want us to believe, there should be no shortage of actual news that doesn't rely on poor or non-existent sourcing or over-inflated stories that are short on facts.
