I'm referring to the history of the development of human society, in general, once we made the transition from hunter and gathering bands, to settled farmers able to produce a surplus over the immediate local needs of the growers. I'm not talking about any specific place or time, or any particular nationality of bandits.

The great question of government, from the time the first one came along, is 'how much can the chief's men take, and who gets some?' The bandits are the main reason people put up with it. That, and some instincts....

America has always immensely rewarded the innovative with abundant wealth. I have no problem with that, it's the way things should be.........within reason.
When you start expecting the rest of us to make sacrifices so those who already have it all can have more........you have stepped outside those bounds. There is no sensible point to that.

Here's one clue; We need money to pay bills and feed our families. We're willing to work for it, so long as there is reward for working. Take away ample reward and your starry eyed heroes can just do it their f**king selves.

I don't hate them, so long as they serve their purpose. They start serving no one but themselves, they become useless to me, they get cheap and demanding they become a burden to me......and pretty much everyone else.
