I'll just say...it's pretty much become tribal now. Tribal and sectarian conflict never goes anywhere.
And we have an over 1500 year history of sectarian conflict in the Islamic world since the death of the Prophet Muhammad as a model for how this sort of thing goes.

The Repubs will keep this going until they succeed or they're driven from power. Any giving up and they know they'll lose all the power and position they now have for a long long time. Witness their backing of the big lie. Witness their demonizing of the entire democratic party. Witness their embrace of tRump like candidates and any wing nuts that rile up the base. If the majority of the country comes to realize what they're up to and turns on them they're finished.

How did so many Americans come to believe what the Republican Party is doing is a good thing? The frog in a pot of water on a stove analogy comes to mind. At first froggy thinks he's in a nice warm place. By the time he realizes what's going on it's too late to jump out.

Just the other day when hearing the "want our country back" at the Y in a conversation I was in.

Asked him just what America would that be you want back?

Northern European, Mediterranean, Asian, Hispanic, African, Native.......

Many varied and different histories involved to be just one.

What will be needed is a common issue effecting us all to unite the different tribes. What that will be hopefully will not be a war with another country.

IMHO there's no question that the MAGA hardcores and their Klan and Nazi partners believe "my country" is an all white and Christian country. And they won't be happy until every non-white, non-christian is gone. Their fear of losing their god-given Second Amendment is all about needing it to complete their scouring of the country of anybody who isn't 100% them. Back to the old "single drop of blood" days...again, IMHO.

PS - a lot of these fuckwits don't consider Catholics to be Christians.

There appears to be more "Southern Tribe" in Wyoming than anywhere else.
