1. Sometimes.
2. Yes.

Moral? Don't act as if you have a pistol. (He doesn't have to possess a pistol, you only have to reasonably believe that he might.)

That said, this guy was UBER squirrelly, well beyond what most of these sorts of things look like. This particular incident was red flag from the pull over.

I feel much better.

The symbolism is apt, as it juxtaposes an eternal innocent(an angel) pointing a gun at a police officer.

This stands as a strong metaphorical statement against police brutality, a modern "J'accuse!" against a department that is supposed to be safeguarding rather than killing citizens.

Of course, the right wing, the police apologists and some in the press are claiming that the picture shows the angel shooting the cop but that's not what's depicted. Interestingly, the artist didn't show the angel shooting the cop but, from all appearances, arresting him.

I wonder what the significance of the "247" is. Is it some sort of body count? The number if people killed by Detroit police in 2014? Is it "twenty-four, seven" for constant vigilance of some sort?

You got it with the second try. Eternal innocence, eternal vigilance. Zeke's "GOOD SHOT" has consequences beyond this mortal coil.

I can picture Satan, a fallen angel, using a gun.

Of course angels in the service of the wrathful/vengeful/just plain badass god are oft pictured with sword in hand.
