60 years after Castro's attack on Moncada

Sixty years after the attack on Moncada - the official start of the Cuban revolution - the US has effectively sidelined a fierce critic and political/economic model.

Cuba which once was a thorn in the body of Uncle Sam can now be ignored.
This island which almost caused a nuclear conflagration, humiliated presidents,
and frightened right wingers in this hemisphere and Africa is now regarded
as a curiosity a place with nostalgic Americana.

The present leaders have a dilemma as they watch other once communist nations transform. After 60 years they cannot give it up to the people who they exiled to Miami; they cannot allow the system to fall prey to the criminal economic bandits a la post Soviet Russia.

Yeah after 60 years the US DOLLAR is KING.

Those who have access to dollars are now the big shots. They can open business
, buy expensive goods and get the best girls. Irony of Irony...they are usually the ones with families and connections in Miami.

Democratic or Authoritarian, Communist or Dictatorship, First World or "Third" World..rich or poor nation, the dollar is always at home.

It is safe to say that the US $100 dollar bill is the world' defacto currency...that is why it is counterfitted so much.

Along with the fact that it is relatively easy to counterfeit, compared to many other currencies.

Somewhat, but still not compared to other modern world currencies with their different size and color for each denomination, along with lots of complicated graphics and imbedded strips.

Yeah the Japanese Yen has that big blank circle...I wonder if that is some sort of anti-counterfit design. Too lazy to google

Compare it to the Euro with its different size and color for each denomination.

They used to say the more colorful money was the less it could be counted on

Wait a sec, our money's gotten some color lately

Seriously, there's no guarantee that the US dollar will remain the world reserve currency.
