Good. Let Iran support Al Maliki. He's their boy.

That is short sighted. Our greatest threat is Al Qaeda.

We should at least hit them from the air.

Haven't we been hitting Al Qaeda all along? It's become a game of Wack a Mole but we most certainly have been killing Al Qaeda leaders at every chance.

Maybe you're advocating something bigger? I would be curious as to what you have in mind.

Remember when Republicans were giving Obama hell for killing Al Qaeda members in drone strikes? With his hands folded, I guess.

Yeah, well it's Obama. So, if he kills them it's bad and if he doesn't kill them it's bad. He's our first "Blood thirsty murdering tyrant who's soft on terrorism and hasn't the guts to stand up to Americas enemies while being a total warmonger President".

Yeah, I know---.

I hear ya, but it was his military that threw down their weapons and uniforms and bolted. Unless and until we are willing to engage in yet another "surge" on the ground in Iraq, it would just be pissing in the wind - probably killing a bunch of civilians and turning even greater support to Al Qaeda. There is no elegant and easy solution to the clusterf*ck that is Iraq.
