Koch-backed political network, designed to shield donors, raised $400 million in 2012
From - http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...y.html?hpid=z1
Yet another thread on the corrosive effects of dark money on the politics of our nation. Sorry for shouting up a dead horses ass but ....
I hope the IRS gets their shit together and puts a stop to 'dollar politics'.

In a rare in-person interview to Forbes in late 2012, Charles Koch defended the need for venues that allow donors to give money without public disclosure, saying such groups provide protection from the kind of attacks his family and company have weathered.
“We get death threats, threats to blow up our facilities, kill our people. We get Anonymous and other groups trying to crash our IT systems,” he said, referring to the computer hacking collective. “So long as we’re in a society like that, where the president attacks us and we get threats from people in Congress, and this is pushed out and becomes part of the culture — that we are evil, so we need to be destroyed, or killed — then why force people to disclose?”
I would ask, "So, Charlie Koch, you think that free speech is an absolute right? No consequences for your wacked opinions and twisting of societal norms? Fuck that!"

I decry the threats of violence. Threats just help this guy.

Assuming there is truth to what he claims, I would have to ask;
"Do you ever stop to ponder why everybody hates you so? And, no, it's not because the media demonizes you."

Personally, I think that the Koch's are full of shit in regards to any credible threats of violence against them in the various social media and letters to the editor. Notice how they drop the threats from hackers, aka Anonymous, into the same category. They haven't gotten to where they are without making enemies. Fuck 'em.

Yes, they certainly do. And that's exactly why the lying billionaire is not to be believed. He's playing to the "Christian/Conservative Victim" meme that's out there right now.

So death threats are now considered to be an accepted form of political discourse? Or perhaps the means to temper the 1st Amendment?
Talk about whacked opinions and the twisting of societal norms.

Chas you are assuming that they actually received those threats. Frankly even if the swore on stacked Bibles I would not take the word of the Koch brothers on a damn thing. This is not mere politics, they are out to buy and subvert the government, aided and abeted by Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas and Kennedy and I consider them no better thans subversives at the very least traitors at the best.
