Rand Paul auditioning for Hillary's runningmate
Here are some excerpts from his new book, Taking a Stand.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...y.html?hpid=z2
Quote:
On the environment: “You’ll find I’m a tree hugger, literally . . . I’m a Republican who wants clean air, clean water, and the life-extending miracle of electricity. I compost.”
On Wall Street: “Only in a world of crony capitalism would bankers whose faulty decisions caused bankruptcy be allowed to cash out as the middle class absorbs the losses.”
On his party: “Right now, the Republican brand sucks. I promised Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, that I would stop saying the GOP sucks, and I will (except for this last time).”
On racial minorities: “I want a New GOP that resonates with America, that looks like America — white and black. . . . The face of the Republican Party should not be about suppressing the vote but about enhancing the vote.”
On Ferguson, Mo.: “[T]housands of peaceful protesters were met with rubber bullets, tear gas, and a police department that showed up at the protest in gear more fitting for Fallujah or Kandahar.”

Wonder if he is getting ready to switch parties especially taking such a leftist stance.

Does his mirror now say, "who are you and what have you done with the other guy"?

What's it smell like?
There are a lot of discontent voters and nonvoters out there looking for change, and those quotes may just resonate with that discontent.

I'm one of the discontented ones.
But it's what Bernie Sanders is saying that resonates with me.

Perot showed how popular a renegade who says what people were thinking can be. Ross might have come in second-or conceivably, first, if he hadn't dropped out for a while. Which is why he dropped-out. He was just in it as a Bush-spoiler.

He may be following in Palin'$ foot steps, first the book then the grandstanding on NSA. Though NSA was timed for his fund raiding campaign. I still don't trust him, like one could with any politician and that includes Hillary in my book.
But his talking points are very good IMO. His poll numbers are tanking though.

I agree with this assessment.
Rand Paul: "ISIS exists...because of hawks" in the GOP
Quote:
"I would say it's exactly the opposite," Paul said. "ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, and most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS. These hawks also wanted to bomb [Syrian dictator Bashar] Assad, which would have made ISIS's job even easier."

I am not promoting Rand Paul, just that his recent comments/excerpts do make sense and is irritating the GOP. Can't wait to hear the Graham/McCain camp's response to this.
