Immediately his twitter account was deluged with racist remarks. Ten minutes in some piece of crap bigot slithered out from under a rock and called him a n****r and wished him cancer.

First, let me say that I in no way support crap like that.

That having been said... Did anyone really thing it would go any other way? The mere opening up of the account invites that kind of bullshit.

I agree with you especially since the hatred and venom is well nourished. If he wanted to use Twitter as a communication tool to the people directly, he should have used a spokesperson. Should help him politically though.
