Overall Cavuto is saying: Do not take this serious; this is just a way to move
the Dem candidates, especially Clinton to the left of the issue.

Fine with me.

America is in dire need of a move to the left.

But it's on Alternet.

This is exactly the tax policy that I am in favor of. A 90% top marginal rate on those with multi-million dollar annual incomes. This was the rate in effect for almost two decades under FDR, Truman, and Eisenhower and it did not destroy America, in fact, quite the opposite, the economy thrived.

.

Of course the economy thrived, it helped to put money in the hands of those who needed it and built infrastructure which kept the poor oppressed 90% tax bracket in the 90% tax bracket.

And corporations plowed money back into the business rather than give it to CEOs, only to have it taxed away.

That piece of Cavuto's was a pack of lies from start to finish. His guests were as bad as he was.

And after the wisdom of Ike, a north central Texan, JFK puts us on the upper tax rate path we tread.

JFK reduced the top marginal rate to 75% but he also closed a bunch of loopholes. The net result was that the amount most people paid changed very little.

I agree.

JFK's pandering for votes ploy was a zero sum game that worked.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it.
