Right now as I type they are covering Al Sharpton on his way to Baltimore. And a black man is saying that Al needs to keep away.

Yes you are right, I was watching Fox. But I also had a chuckle when they aired that. While one person can have an influence on others, I figure one person can only shout loud enough for his group to hear. Unless the media puts it out there for all to hear. But I think these rioters are responsible for their own actions. Al or no Al I'd say shit woulda still hit the fan.

I must say it is a darn shame to burn down a place that was built by a church to house the elderly. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the rioters would be pissed at the innocent. Each and every one of us will be old one day,

Some good news on that front. "The Rev. Donte Hickman, whose church was building a senior center in Baltimore that burned down Monday night, might be able to rebuild the facility sooner than he expected.
When Hickman spoke with ABC2 News on Tuesday, the news station also set up an interview with an architect in Indianapolis to deliver the pastor a surprise. Michael Bluitt, vice president of HCO Church builders, offered to help rebuild the center.
"Your tenacity is really what moved me, and your faith," Bluitt said on ABC2. "God makes no mistakes. He wants you to have greater than what you initially anticipated."
Bluitt said his firm would create a conceptual rendering of the new senior center and set up a design consultation." LATimes

This hits really close to home. My wife is from Baltimore and she's taking it pretty hard watching her city go up in flames. The mayor seems to be in way over her head.

I don't live there, nor have family there, but I find it very sad that these idiots set fire to a place that was built by a church to house the elderly. There is absolutely no excuse.

It's 68 again. Same area is being hit the hardest. I had two cousins who were called up in 68. One was put in front of a liquor store on North Ave. with no ammunition for his M-14.

The gangs of Baltimore have always been great rioters.

my first job as a kid (not counting paper boy) was sweepings up the broken glass from the bank sidewalks after the riots in north jersey. Two years later the same bank used to pay me to sit in the lobby all day at the branch in the "tough" neighborhood as all the employees there were female.

Looks like the citizens are out being seen cleaning up the mess. It is a sad thing but has to be expected. The TPers pride themselves on a history of destructive rioting, no?
More than anything I feel for the business owners that lost it all and the good citizens that will not have the services of that business that won't be rebuilt. Only a bombed out storefront and an absentee landlord who could care less remain.

I would have thought they would have blamed it all on Sharpton. After all, wasn't he breathing air when all this mess started?
