I watched the soccer game in the stadium in Paris, France vs. Germany. In the 17th minute I heard a huge explosion. It was the explosion of a suicide bomber close to the stadium.

One almost feels sorry for them in their infantile stupidity.

Their latest savagery has managed to get the U.S. and Russia working together against them, mobilized France, and all but erased any reservations in the U.S. about doing whatever it takes to wipe them off the face of the earth.

All they need to do now is murder some Chinese in a horrible manner and the weight of the world's destructive capability will be unleashed against them - brutally.

It's far, far more complicated than that and, at this point, the enduring influence of the Crusades takes a back seat to the things which have come since. Today, things like the "Great Game", the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire after World War I, the Balfour Declaration and the creation of the state of Israel have far more influence on Arab attitudes and actions.
