China made the U.S.A.'s Olympic Uniforms-WTF?

What I 'm surely the first to post about his cluster FK.

Now who dropped the ball on this one?

Oh yes, I saw Harry Reid in projectile sweat over it yesterday. He wants to have a bonfire.

Must have been something our favorite outsourcer started when he poked his nose into the olympics. Wouldn't that be a hoot? If the decision to by uniforms from China could be traced to Romney?

I'll admit that would give you lots of ammo plus a belly ache from laughing too much, but it's likely someone else made the decision since Romney's Olympic time was quite a time back.

Yeah, I know. But, it wouldn't be very suprising, now would it?

It appears that Ralph Lauren the uniform designer is a democrat supporter:

Quote:
The company who designed the uniforms, Ralph Lauren, has received less scrutiny. Few outlets have noted that Ralph Lauren himself is a prominent contributor to President Obama and the Democratic Party.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Lauren has given $7,300 to Obama since 2008, and more than $35,000 to the Democratic National Committee.

Obama’s own ties to outsourcing have come under scrutiny of late. His much-vaunted green energy loan program awarded billions of taxpayer dollars to foreign-owned companies and firms that manufacture their products overseas.

I'm wondering what the back story is on all of this. I'm guessing that the China-made decision was based exclusively on cost.

This is a picture of a uniform. Look closely at the logo. Why is it even on there and the size. Promotion is all this is for Polo!

Not for the good old U.S.A.!

Hell, much of the stuff that was labelled "Made in the USA" was made by Chinese workers in Saipan anyway.

I believe the Olympic uniforms were donated by Lauren. I'm not sure the Olympic Committee is able to look a gift horse in the mouth, considering that our team is entirely privately funded.
