Another wind turbine approach

Since wind turbines need be tethered, using the tether lines to transfer power would make sense.

And it has the advantage of being doable within current technology. I'll admit I imagined the problems of transmitting power through air were more solved.

I would think you'd also need to reel down inside a hangar with retracting roof to keep snow from accumulating on the craft and killing bouyancy. Even the retracting roof would need to be specially designed to operate with a snow load.

There could be ways to address that issue with the blades and accumulation of ice, commonly found in aviation. Heated leading edges, rubber panels that expand momentarily and break the ice, deicing agent pumped through small orifices in the lead edge.............

Of course all of those systems have drawbacks and trade offs, but it is possible.
