Detroit Area, Sprawl is Back

A new article in the Detroit News says that sprawl is back. Just what we need. Sigh.

Detroit's population is almost identical to El Paso, TX. That's incredible. One hundred square miles of pavement, maybe more, and they are still bulldozing trees out here in the country. It is madness.

I'm afraid Detroit has a terminal case of bad reputation. Once the whole world writes a city off as dead, the mere mention of the name will repel recovery, regardless of what anyone does.

I wish it weren't so, but....................
