Again, collectively or singularly, is irrelevant (even though ESPN wants it in the forefront to paper over an idiotic display of PCism run amock). It's amazing that someone inside ESPN thought that there was a decision to be made here. Though you may want to defend it as much ado about nothing, it was apparently substantive enough for WaPo to push out an op-ed blaming Trump for it, and of course you lap it right up. As if PC has only been around since Nov 2016.
