I do wonder if anyone here has ever been attacked, before? I have. Nothing is static, extrapolation via body language doesn't work.

To wit? I regret that the attached photo is, quite literally, of a monster. There is no correlation intended, this is merely the first photo I could locate which supports my point: even if the eyewitness is correct and the suspect had his hands in the air, that does NOT guarantee surrender or any reduction in threat capacity, especially if the VERY LARGE Brown is advancing on Wilson.

All of Brown's wounds are from the front and he cannot be convincingly portrayed as no longer being a threat to Wilson or the community at large until subdued.

I don't see the issue beyond -- admittedly -- the entire business being unsavory.

I agree, anytime someone is shooting at you it's best to keep running, zig-zag couldn't hurt either..... But especially if you've just punched the guy in the face and tried to take his gun.

I'm well aware of the situation regarding evidence. I think we established quite a while back that we're all speculating.

Yes, I think it's entirely possible Wilson shot at Brown while he was running away. If he did, and it is found to be unjustified and/or outside of protocol given the situation, he should pay dearly.

Protocol dictates that anyone perceived as an imminent threat to John Q. can be dealt with using deadly force.
