Please stay away from St. Louis until after the riots are over

We will be going through another round of riots.

A bench trial of a fired St. Louis City police officer just returned an innocent verdict.

He killed a small time hood who crashed a car after a high speed chase, was taped in the police car dash cam as stating "We're killing this motherfucker, don't you know", and 45 seconds later, he did just that.

He then went back to his police car to get a clotting kit, returned to the crashed car to find the hood deceased, and found and removed a handgun. The handgun later returned only prints and DNA that matched that of the officer, with none of the deceased DNA or prints on it, not even partials.

This is going to be another very, very ugly weekend.

The St. Louis City Black Police Officers Benevolent union has called for a guilty verdict from three days ago. This case was tried by the St. Louis City Prosecuting Attorney's office for the state, and they did a good job. here is the pdf of the case...

This is going to open the rift wide open between the black north side and white St. Louis. You have the county Police Department, the white city Police union, and the county PA/DA office in unison on one side, and the St. Louis city black police officers, the city PA/DA office, and blacks on the other.

This case, although much less publicized than the Brown case, is in many ways much worse. With a bench trial, there was no jury, and the judge is now retired, with only a few more decisions to be released from his docket.

And only a couple days prior, Ferguson(yes, that Ferguson) issued a nolle prosequi dismissal in the notorious Freddie Brown case. Freddie is a Navy vet who had a top secret security clearance, and was working for the National Geospatial Administration as a government contractor when he got arrested five years ago in Ferguson for hooping(playing basketball) while being black.

He ended up getting nine bogus charges filed against him in a police malpractice arrest, and then had the previous fired DA of Ferguson illegally enter a guilty plea that he was not allowed to contest in court. The case remained open for the past five years without a court date, resulting in him losing his clearance, his job, his house, and he and his family becoming homeless.

They decided to clean this up in an effort to avoid more riots up there...

Don't believe me? Read this...

Dunno how long the lack of universal standards and practices without accountability can go on.

Some points to ponder....
The St. Louis City Police Board of Commissioners granted a $900,000 settlement payout for the widowed girlfriend/fiancée and their child over two years ago.

The officer in question was suspended for 30 days, and during the investigation, resigned prior to being fired.

The officer in question was carrying his own personal AK47 and rounds can in the police car, in violation of protocol.

Following his shooting of Smith in the rental car, the officer in question returned to the squad car, opened a duffel bag, and was filmed rummaging through the bag and extracting something. He then returned to the rental car of the deceased, with a clotting kit in his chest pocket, determined that Smith had expired, and commenced a search for the silver handgun. After finding the revolver, he returned to the squad car, removed his gloves, extracted the chamber and rounds, rendering it safe. Note that he did not use the clotting kit, his only reason to return to the squad car.

Lab examination found only the officer's DNA on the revolver, and his DNA underneath a recessed screw on the body of the gun, along with only fingerprints of the officer.

That's it. Dirty judge.

Funny, you never here anyone talk about 'judge nullification.' Red paint thrown at Mayor's house? Wrong house.

Wow, just wow.

How does a society correct such obvious corruption?
This officer should be in prison for the rest of his life, without any chance of parole.

EDIT
After a few moments of pause I have to ask a few questions. Lets break this down into two event. The first is the shooting, the second is the throw down gun/cover up.

As to the shooting, he was found innocent of murder on this charge. The charge probably should have been some level of manslaughter. The murder charge was applied to guarantee the officers aquital(sp). The law requires specific requirements to meet this charge. I have seen this tactic here in denver at least once. This is supposed to appease the people while protecting the officer from prison. The people believe that justice is trying to be enforced when in fact it is being subverted. Crooked as hell if you ask me.

As to the throw down gun and cover up, I didn't see any mention of this charge. It should have been included in the trial. I also think that because it was part of the events(the shooting) it is now impossible to charge him for this. Sounds like the DA is just as dirty as the cop.

J, here is the DA's case, There are multiple additional points made in the trial, including the fact that one bullet casing was found inside the car, which would be consistent with four shots fired from outside the car, and one fired from inside the car.

there also is a great amount of detail about how the officer searched for the revolver, and how he climbed OVER the body and sat on the passenger side seat while searching for said revolver, etc. It is also interesting that the squad car camera was turned off once the suspect was killed, and the officer's body position as he rummaged through his duty bag for the clot kit.

Finally, the DNA on the revolver screw was blood DNA of the officer, while I was informed it was blood DNA on the screwhead, and non-blood DNA on the underside.

Also, the videos were leaked to the newspaper some time after the settlement was paid, and before the officer was indicted. The original event went down in 2011, so this whole trial would never had happened if the leak did not occur.

Here is the jpeg. The testimony and bullet points are even worse than my synopsis.
