A Steamy 4th.......

It's 98 degrees and about 78% humidity, here in the swamp. I have the food going out on the grill and I'm sittin' here waitin' for my peeps. I tried sitting out on the patio, but it takes about 30 seconds to die in a pool of sweat out there. Thank God I decided to skip the parade. We still plan on hittin' the fireworks, though. Hopefully, it will cool down a bit by then.

Sometimes, I really miss SoCal............

Hell, Ohio would be better than this.

Well, no fireworks tonight, it is just absolutely POURING out there now, with severe thunderstorm warnings until 1 a.m.. They're calling for "Ping-Pong ball sized hail". Had to put the Mighty BlueStreak in the garage.

At least the temp dropped about 20 degrees and I can always watch fireworks on t.v..............Still not the same though.

I slaved over a hot grill today too.. Everyone seemed happy with the result.
Marinading is the key.. Think I got marinaded as well.

Neighborhood is popping off a major display right now. Amazing amount of cannon power. One guy up the hill had a finale that looked like DisneyWorld.

It was 102 and humid in Bixby today, heat index around 110. Plenty of dogs and burgers. Someone brought some "cowboy beans" that would have put ol' Wishbone to shame. There were four generations there. The little kids that were running around when we first started going to these are bringing their little ones now.

Regards,

D-Ray

It was dry and 74 inside, cable am[ went out in the storm night before but we have plenty of DVDs so a good night was had by all. They called and asked if we would be home for the delivery of the new stove for today and I said hell yes. The old one failed after 11 years so no parts. It got Alzhiemers and its tiny mind failed, needless to say the cook has been improvising on hoplates etc. and very well too.

It was better in Ohio, just a generally beautiful weekend. Good beer, good food, a few bottle rockets, and a freshly set up Pickering XV-15 625e to play marches with

I've heard that. Also received some videos of fireworks from friends in OH who felt sorry for me. (Ohioans are such cool people, aren't they, Pete?)

That Pickering is a sweet, sweet cart. My brother had one on a Pioneer PL400 back in the late '70s. (I believe the "e" stands for "Elliptical").

Yeah, we're the coolest LOL!

Thansk for the e-formation Still loosening up the Pickering. It sounds warm but a little rolled off on the top end. I'll know better after a few more play hours.
