I know, right? Can't wait to see what the Dems do when Trump says "Hey, I've got a phone and a pen" an starts cranking out executive orders.

Many of the establishment Republicans both in and outside of congress despise Trump and wanted him to lose big. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle this.

That's right. It's all on them now.

Come mid January their president will be the obstruction.

I don't believe most citizens understand that our elected officials are the government.

I'm concerned with him running true to form, bailing when it all goes wrong and skipping with the assets, leaving his investors holding the bag.

He'd be just the guy to pull a Palin as president.... As I've said before, Pence, being an actual Republican politician, may actually be worse in some ways.

I was thinking about that, too. I know how that looks in private business but I don't know how it would play out in government.

That is the truly scary part, he knows how the car this dog caught works and what he can do with it.

Being ever the optimist, I have to look forward to the midterms. Traditionally, the midterms have been bad for the party holding the presidency. Those folks who wanted someone to look out for ordinary people will see how silly an idea it was to entrust that job to a Billionaire con man. They will also hopefully realize that the incumbents in congress aren't going to look out for them either. And then, the stench of a Trump administration will waft down to the state houses and legislatures, and we will get some majorities in the states willing and able to fix the tortured boundaries on the congressional districts.

And TJ, lets hope there is at least some merit to your theory, and that we live long enough to see a progressive majority.

In the meantime, I will work on things from a micro rather than a macro level. I will work my ass off to obtain relief for working people on a case by case basis.

I think it is more than likely that the cluster fuck that has been happening in this country for the last several years will have become more apparent.
