It's called "Leadership", we set the example and support allies in common interests. We however should not support bad behavior by them.

Scoring political points on a trivial and incorrectly framed "debt" issue and waffling on long held negotiated alliances while ignoring or promoting human rights offenses, including our own is not good leadership, we look like petty unreliable hypocrites.

Do you think that these folks would somehow magically would change their opinion?

Then, we could start another thread about all of the Dems who didn't support Hillary. The Bernie Sanders crowd, for example, and probably the Dems that decided to stay home in November rather than hold their collective noses and go vote for her.

But again, who cares? Or, as your girl famously said: "What difference, at this point, does it make?"
