No mention of poor Tibet.

We have to plan for what they could do, not what they might do.

Foreign affairs is one deady serious game.

Does power derive from wealth? Perhaps. But then again, I don't find the Swiss and Swedish empires all that threatening.

In short, there's a correlation but I'm not sure how much of one. Germany and Japan are both huge economic powers with little political influence outside of their borders (nowadays anyway).

Unfortunately, Yes. I think the rest of the world is beginning to see us as a washed-up joke. The neighborhood tough guy that's grown too old, tired, cynical and fat to fight anymore. The Chinese have been rapidly accruing astonishing wealth---at our expense. I am sure they are using this new found wealth to build their military. They have appealed to the greed of our manufacturers and consumers, and now they will watch as we slowly destroy ourselves in the name of saving a buck.

Ever read "The Art of War"?

Because they have been relying on us to protect them.
Why spend the money on weapons when the Americans will do it for you?

I thought about it a bit more and think the correlation is a bit more tenuous than I thought before. The Soviet Union had immense political power/influence but were an economic basket case.

Well, do "me agree" or do "I agree"? If you're the subject of the sentence it's "I" as in "I went to Beck's rally on Saturday. If you're the object of the sentence it's "me" as in "Listening to that ass clown for 2 hours nearly killed me."

How would these sentences be structured in Chinese?
That's what we all need to learn.

Here dave:

哦,“我同意”或做“我同意”?如果您是该句是“主体我”在“我到贝克在星期六举行集会。如果你是该句是” 我“在”听的屁股几乎杀死2小时小丑对象我。 “
