Will liberals finally get their Utopia?
I'm all for this. Folks should have the right to chart their own course. In fact, maybe Baja Arizona should be allowed to secede from the Union, and become its own country.

I'm not sure I consider southern Arizona a utopia, unless you're into rattlesnakes and Saguaro cactus. If this were to occur, however, there'd be a huge brain drain to the south. Phoenix would have even a higher dumb yahoo quotient than it does now.

After all the craziness in AZ in the past couple of years, I can hardly blame them (don't mistake this as an endorsement of their proposal, however). My nephew and his wife (who was born in Cuba) just moved from Phoenix to Richmond, VA in December after he completed his doctorate at Arizona State. He was chomping at the bit to get out of there and was thrilled to see it in his rear view mirror on the way out.

it's a good way to get two more progressive senators in the chamber

the better idea is to do away with the senate
