Very warm this year. Last year, different story.

Thanks a lot guys for bringing it up. We are now facing a week of freezing weather with the threat of snow.

Regards,

Bluebird skies with yellowish brown tinge at the edges, what's uncharcteristic is the lack of Santa Ana winds. When we get those it's funny to see all of the out of towners gawking at the mountains that suround the LA basin. Everyone of them is exclaiming " Look! Look! I didn't know that you have mountains!" Angelenos just shrug and mutter, " Yeah, just wait until they catch fire."

Paradise my ass, we're the lung cancer and emphysema leader of the nation.
I just love the crybabies weeping and gnashing their teeth about a
measely foot or two of snow. At least you have air.

ps if you live in tornado alley please disregard! I'll take the shitty air and not so solid ground over that any day. I'm just waiting for those turnada chasers to get gobbled up by those giant weedwackers sent by the Vengeful One.
That would be some reality TV that I could watch.

..... and a few words about snow days, how nice that must be! Everyone all rosy cheeked, breaking out their sleds and snow shovels. Here we get the dreaded smog days. You get warned to keep the kiddies and old folk inside 'cause it's hazardous to breath. Like staying inside will help.
I suspect that it wouldn't look good to have all us old folk dropping like flies out in public.
So, do you know how to tell a SoCal native? They all wheeze by age 50 or earlier

So,shut yer yap about a little snow and count your blessings that you don't live on the left coast, surrounded by mountains that you can't see and can't go visit because they're closed due to hazardous fire conditions except when it rains.
The last place you want to be is in the mountains when it rains out here. Trust me. It isn't a placid little stream with brookies waiting for you to cast a fly, it's a godawful cement mixer full of boulders doing 60 downhill.
Guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

Snow is ok, as long as you don't have to go anywhere.

I heard a radio report of an area of AK getting record snowfall this year - something like 14-15 feet. The mayor was talking about having made the roads passable by creating 8 foot banks, after they had hauled tons and tons away. That's gotta be tough.

Regards,

D-Ray

Yup, that was either Valdez or Cordova you heard about. I've got a buddy in Valdez, who said a couple weeks ago the snow avalanched off of one house and pushed down the wall of the house next door.
They had the National Guard in Cordova, brought in C-130's with backhoes and front end loaders to dig the town out. Mind you this is a place that is very well versed in heavy snowfall, but this year they were overwhelmed.

I think it was Cordova. How far are you from those two? How much snow have you had this year? After lots of snow in KC last year, we might be an inch total this winter.

D-Ray
