Owning a gun or not is a big personal choice. Nothing like owning a toy but there are those who act like a gun is a toy not a tool.
People act stupid in cars all the time and when caught are treated accordingly. So it should be for gun owners. Face it guns are here to stay in the US, well as long as there is a US anyway. So the laws should reflect the safety of ALL of it's citizens.

As long as we stay armed the government works for us. It didn't work out so
well for african americans when they were denied gun ownership for
hundreds of years by the democrats.
And how about the jews in Germany, in the ovens they fried.

By Democrats? All by themselves?
So, it was the ability to own guns that turned things around for the African Americans? And if the Jews had owned personal firearms the Nazis would have been powerless to harm them?
And if you think for one moment that the personal arsenals of you and your redneck friends would even slow the government down if they decided to, I dunno, suspend the Constitution, then your even dumber than I thought.
Oh, and I find your inability to properly capitalize "African American" and "Jew" while having no similar difficulty capitalizing "Germany"..... um..... interesting.

Well Noon,
Just call me old fashion.
I believe that God has a hand in everything that has ever happened since the beginning of time.

A couple of comments, if I may.
I have absolutely zero problem with anyone who is personally responsible for their own actions owning a firearm. Without commenting on recent SC rulings, it is a protected right in this country but it is not an unrestricted right. Where the matter becomes problematic for me is when an individual's right to privacy coupled with his or her right to own a firearm trumps my right to live. Two examples: The Gabrielle Giffords shooting in Arizona and the Hartford Distributors shooting. In both cases individuals with documented cases of mental health issues legally purchased firearms. In the Connecticut case Omar Thornton lied on his application to carry and nine people lost their lives as a consequence.
I have been the recipient of a number of calls from the NRA (not sure how they got my number since I do not own a firearm). The riot-insighting, distorted, quite frankly terrifying bullsh*t that I listened to (Hillary Clinton supports selling guns to terrorists? really?) is simply off the charts. Wayne LaPierre certainly earned his pay that day. Anyone who doesn't understand that the NRA (and, yes, I know they do have some good programs) isn't an extremist organization simply hasn't been paying attention.
Whenever we have an incident like Va Tech, Gabrielle Giffords, Hartford Distributors, et al, we can have a reasoned discussion on just about anything: parenting, social ills, law enforcement, crime, whatever, but we can't ever talk about the gun, ever. Because if we try it immediately turns into a confiscation screaming match.
The overwhelming majority of firearms confiscated from criminals in the northeastern United States were legally purchased from states like Texas and Virginia. Not my stat; it comes from the FBI. There is something wrong when guns in incredible numbers can be legally purchased without restriction and then fall into the hands of criminals.
We license virtually everything in our society. Dogs, cats, cars, drivers but for some reason we can't license firearms ownership. And I know that statement will elicit a sh*t storm.
Sorry for the rant but just thought I'd add my thoughts.

I would prefer registration for Pitbulls & Illegals. I would feel safer & it would be a good start toward an all out ban.
It's the Leftys who live in big cities that go around shooting each other. You know...gangs, illegals, drug dealers, ...

Thanks Bill but I have fairly strong thoughts on Gods.
Although I was brought up catholic I look at this religion now and shriek.
This particular brand of religion is led by men who do not fuc% and believe in magic. It seems insane to me.
Then I look around the world and see that all of life is about taking the life force of another for your own. In other words one life force rips apart the flesh of another life force in some way and consumes it.
Seems to me this type of set up would not have been put together by a kind and benevolent God.
If there is a God he is more likely to be one that values pain and suffering and I have no intention of worshiping a God like that if nothing is immediately compelling me to.
