Sonny's great. He and Sam Huff still do Redskins games on radio. I know many folks who will tune into the radio show and turn off the TV volume just to listen to Sonny. He's a regional treasure.

During his playing days Sonny and that era 'Skins team was enough to switch me from being a (Baltimore) Colts to a Redskins fan. They ere all great! With the current crop of teams, players and especially owners, I'm not even a football fan any more.

Seems a lot of players aren't either.

Oh, and if Tebow were a Muslim, I don't think it would make a helluva lotta difference to me. A zealot is a zealot... and he'd still be a mediocre QB.

With Dan Snyder at the helm now that JC Cooke passed, my interest in the 'Skins has waned considerably, as it has with Peter Angelos' Orioles. Two gawd-awful owners. I'm am, however, digging the Nationals (and Va Tech football, of course).

I've long given upon Angelos' Orioles. He took them from one of the best teams in the major leagues (at one time, I believe in the '80s, the O's had the best historical winning percentage in the majors) to one of the worst. Living where I do now, I've been tempted to become a Giants fan, especially since the Orioles' best announcer, John Miller, is the Giants' announcer and the team colors are the same.

But you have to admit that it might provide some entertainment value watching that ever crowd pleasing play of bouncing the quarterbacks head off the astroturf. Those litigants oughta sue the fans too eh Don?
