OIF was an easy sell as Bush was seeking revenge and an opportunity to show he was a better man than his father (like that's ever going to happen).

An amazingly easy sell. I am still appalled at how easy a sell it was.

The lies were thin, and the long-standing PNAC strategy was not a secret. But the lies were hardly challenged, and no one cared about the PNAC stuff....

Here's an article showing how prominent American politicians address the issue. Most of them talk like they want to move to a West Bank settlement.

Or to put it another way, we were at that time vulnerable to bad leadership. Such times expose the fact that good character is qualification number one for leaders.

"Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001", aka Patriot Act made it difficult to question any decision regarding the war or else one's patriotism was questioned. Another buzz word for support for the war was the "Support Our Troops" bumper stickers. Total con job by the neocon's.

I'm OK with "Support our troops, question the policy".

Yeah, like most of them.

And many of them have dual Israeli/US Citizenship.

Tell me that isn't a conflict of interest.
