Either have a death penalty and a method like a guillotine or rope or forget about it and do a life sentence. There is no real humane way to kill after all.

Using the royal you, than "you" do it. The reason we have all of these contraptions is because no single person really wants the responsibility.

No, it's not. Why? Because it's not always murder. That said, execution is precisely such.

It won't, already in evidence.

Precisely.

We put down pets humanely thousands of times a day. But, we just can't seem to get it right, when it comes to prisoners.
Why is that, do you suppose?

Because it's crime and punishment. Oh yeah, almost forgot - to draw attention.

Pretty much similar to having a safe abortion done almost anywhere in the USA now. Opposition has made doing it properly so difficult that improperly prepared folk denied effective means are getting the results one could expect.

What is sick to me is the false equivalency of those who say the killer go what he deserved when he writhed in agony for 2 hours because his victims suffered too (the victims' family said exactly that in this case). It misses the point entirely and goes to show how the death penalty here debases us all.

No, it debases those who applaud torture as an execution method.

More unintended consequenses I'd say.
How about this statement?
"...
One thing is certain, however, inmate Wood died in a lawful manner, and by eyewitness and medical accounts he did not suffer,” Brewer said in a statement. ..."
And if this bastard said this to me I'd probably be in jail myself:
"...
“I take comfort knowing today my pain stops, and I said a prayer that on this or any other day you may find peace in all of your hearts and may God forgive you all.”
...."
