What freakin hate.

Reminded me of myself talking about South Carolina or some such backward state.

anyway, it turns out the happiest people live in Raleigh NC and 4 other places and the most miserable live in NYC and 4 other places. Louisville, Pittsburgh and Detroit among the 4 others.

Detroit OK but Pitt, Louisville and NYC???

I just wish I could afford to live in NYC again.
They never polled the people of Kansas or they'd know what misery and despair really is.

Is it self-inflicted?

I may not like Pittsburgh but I'd be mad if it was attacked!

Pitts looks a lot nicer than it used to but it's still got the same old mid sized rust belt issue we do, it's a kinda boring/beatup/downer thing. Don't get me wrong, the living is decent and relatively affordable....

But if I got truly wealthy I'd move to Chicago or NYC tomorrow.

How about Beverly Hills? Swimmin' pools, movie stars...

Hillbilly or Wheezer version?

I like urban, except for the close in part. Money'll buy privacy when I want it, so hello city life!

Oh and I wouldn't want to give up winter completely. Nothing like serious barhopping on the Magnificent Mile on a February evening!

Have you spent any time there recently? It's anything but a boring, beat-up downer.

That surprises me. I figured you would want a big chunk out in the country somewhere.

Right now, if I got a 'bit' of money I would get a small spread on the edge of the country with a barn, for sure!

But if I was stinking filthy rich I could buy space and privacy near the best of everything, AND have a real ranch with a place to park the 'copter

Finn they've done wonders with their downtown for sure, but it still takes time to change an outlook. Maybe it has but last I was there, 2 years ago? the neighborhoods I were in still had the same feel.

If I hit a jackpot I'm not sure were I'd go, having not given it serious thought.
