Logical? I need one to fend off the 90% that are idiots. Actually, I have been around guns since I was young and find that most people that were have more respect for them than those that weren't. If you consider the number of gun sales and how many people are at the range, it becomes rather clear that most gun owners have very little skill with their guns. Moreover, if they've never shot anything but paper, they do not have an understanding of the devastation a gun can create.

I can't think of anyone more threatening than a 93 year old woman. I can see where that officer felt threatened. He was probably blinded by the shine off her white hair combined with her lightning quick reflexes..... Threatened enough to put three bullets in the woman (he missed with two others). Gosh, with a name like "Pearlie" she had to be deadly.....
Guy needs to be drawn and quartered.....
I hope this haunts him for life.....

Do you know all the facts and the results of the investigation? If a person calls the police about a woman with a gun they are probably required to respond. Nobody knows yet what her response to the officer was. Just because a certain scenario plays out in your mind doesn't make it reality. You may be right, but shouldn't assume you are until the facts are known.
Does a father need to get arrested because he speaks out against a local school board.
He didn't get arrested for voicing his disapproval. He got arrested because he refused to quit speaking after his time was up and then turned into a disruptor.
Really does a 90 year old man need to go to federal prison, because the cartel prayed on him to do their dirty work.
Yes.
I didn't even look for this news it was all on the Google news page at the same time.
PS: it's not an anti cop thread. It shows how we cant live and breath in this country any more.

Of course, these are only my opinions.

Did you see the part this town is a population level of about 4,000. Like the cops don't know everybody in this high crime major metropolitan community.

Wow! All because she failed her drivers license renewal test. That's pretty crazy.

Kind of funny there is laws here for that action none say a cop will unload his firearm into you. Kind of funny the nephew was able to retreat and make a phone call on the property. But the cop could not reduce the tension by pulling back any to get someone to talk the lady down.
A regular old Wyatt Earp he is. Shootout at the old lady's house.

It's classic dementia. Anger, aggression, loss of sense of social responsibility, and of impulse control.
It is very difficult to reason with people in that condition, and with shots fired, she was extremely dangerous.

This is why I usually try to give a moderated opinion instead of shooting an immediate mandatory turnkey decision from the hip on stuff like this, and why this is my first comment in this thread. There are frequently mitigating details that arise after the initial flurry of outrage. F I., unreasonableness and rage may be a result of a diabetic crisis.
That is what the task of a judge in a court of law ideally does after all the known pertinent facts are presented.
