We need people who have been active in politics long enough to understand how things work. Proof of that is the current president.
What we really need to do is have honest people with integrity who understand how government works and a mechanism to hold them accountable.

How long is long and too long, herein lies the problem. Career politicians whose only interest is to get re-elected, not to serve the voters.

Trump claims to be a non-politician, yet has played NY and national politics for a long time. Trump is a narcissist and they seldom make good leaders simply because no one of any stature or integrity will ever work for them.
