This country is done

We allow places like Arkansas 2 US Senators just like CA or NY.

Are we Fin' nuts?

Look what you get...

morons, just like Chauncey Gardiner or Sarah Palin

This country needs to wake up before it's too late and realize it was a mistake and 2 senators from every hillbilly state is a disaster.

I think it helps balance out the large population states V small ones. Plus the six year terms helps them handle problems with less worries on reelection. Gives two seats voted on in state wide elections. We have congress represented by population so another for me would be the weighing more power to a easy swayed crowd. (mob)

I think the problem you are seeing is the manipulation of the districts allowing the narrowing of the outcome.

and why on earth should a hillbilly's vote be more valuable than mine?

Listen, I know WHY we have this insane senate representation but trying to justify it is flat out wrong.

The real problem is the Electoral College and it should be tossed. Tossed simply because it destroys the concept of one man one vote.

Say or think what you may. If it had been the intention of the founders to have one man one vote for President or a Populace allotment then so would it be now. But in the infinite wisdom they saw the need to balance powers. Just like the branches of government along with the intended separation of church and state.

If we had a form like is being discussed now. Our history would be very different, my feeling are major changes like slavery, equal rights among other would be vastly different. I have a feeling this country would already have suffered from the many attempts to dissolve long ago.

By having an equal say in the Senate gives all the states the same standing.

As a sanforized citizen I did swear to uphold the Constitution, but I did not swear to say that I thought it to be a brilliant piece of work.

We have the Senate, which contains two per state regardless of population, then we have the House which allows for one representative per district, regardless of population. However, the larger and more populated the state, the more districts, the more representatives.

So, in a more or less fashion, there is a balance struck between states and rural vs. urban areas in Congress.

Why should "Hillbillies" get to choose our leaders, Ed? Because without the system as it is, big city Liberals would win every single time and there would be no balance of power at all, ever.

We shouldn't have sole say in national matters and neither should they.

But, believe me, I do feel the pain. Having grown up in the country I know what a many of these people are thinking when they vote for these jackasses.

You can see it in the legislation they seek..............

"No Fags Allowed! Have a Nice Day and God Bless You!" Sheesh..............
