There's no telling what this special election means in the long run, if anything. The 2018 midterms are what's important and conjecture as to the deeper meaning of GA-6 is just that - conjecture. That said, Democrats need to be far better at candidate recruitment if they want to win. Ossoff was too young, inexperienced, and didn't even live in the district. A trifecta of political malfeasance. It's remarkable that such a flimsy candidate finished as well as he did in a traditionally conservative district.

Agreed, in politics its mostly based on momentum. The special election in Montana and Georgia is showing that the GOP advantage is shrinking. Besides Ossoff was carpetbagging which will make some Democrats not vote for either party, sort of like what Hillary faced.

From Politico:

http://www.politico.com/tipsheets/pl...power-briefing

DEM OPERATIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY: “We no longer have a party caucus capable of riding this wave. We have 80-year-old leaders and 90-year-old ranking members. This isn’t a party. It’s a giant assisted living center. Complete with field trips, gym, dining room and attendants.”

That's the second time in a couple months I've seen a Dem quoted complaining that their party leadership was "too old". I think it's BS. Leadership is never too young or too old if it's good leadership.

Indeed it seems like a lot of the House Democrats are unhappy with Pelosi. No reason why they shouldn't be. She's every bit as sad as the other 3 Congressional leaders of both parties.

Meanwhile, Michael Moore speaks out:

Moore ripped the Democratic National Committee and its House campaign arm for having “no message, no plan, no leaders.” Democratic leaders “hate the resistance,” Moore said, underscoring the lingering tension between the party’s grassroots base and the establishment in Washington.

After the election, instead of doing an honest assessment of their leadership, the Democrats carried out a wall to wall, 24/7 Russian reason for their election failure.

Actually considering how much dark money was spent in favor of Handel and the fact that Ossoff did not even live in that district they came quite close.
