For the most part I agree with you, Jay, but I have to say that McCaskill and "Old S Fer Nuthin'" prove that Missourians can on occasion screw up and produce a good and worthy representative.

With more friends from MO coming online in the evening and the follow up news stories it looks like Mr Akin may just be in trouble.

This is some classic stuff. he followed up later with this:

"Several hours after the interview Akin released a statement claiming is that his comments to host Charles Jaco were “off the cuff” and “do not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year,” said Akin."

UM...off the cuff means it unscripted and your true honest feelings, correct? This patardier may be hoisted.....

Keep digging that hole deeper!

What a arrogant Ahole! Hope this torpedo's his campaign. I question if his women staffers have trouble justifying working in the campaign after this.

The part about these holier than me right to lifers is that they want the child born but then goodbye. They have absolutely no interest in what happens to it after that. So what about the "other" innocent victim, the woman? Is carrying a foetus for nine months and possibb;y undergoing many hours of labor just a walk in the park. There are days when I am ashamed to be a man when members of my gender display such arrogant disregard for women. I guess all this BS started when Adam blamed it all on Eve.

Another of those on the right who believe that the right to life begins at conception - and ends at birth.

It's been humorous watching the GOP run away from this guy like a scalded cat, notwithstanding the fact that Ryan teamed with Akin (and 225 other GOP co-sponsors) in crafting a House Bill that attempted to codify exactly what this guy said.

What a bunch of weaselly douchebags.

"I've Not Yet Begun To Fight!"

Akin's now swearing that he'll stay in the race, despite being hammered by everyone on both the Left and the Right (except Erick Erickson and Dana Loesch). I couldn't be more pleased!
