Thanks for the recommendation. I will add it to my rather lengthy queue.

For some reason the idea of celebrity reminds me of a line from a Mel Brooks movie that described a character as "world famous in Poland."

I agree. Voyeurism under the guise of political correctness.
However; I do watch. The professional dancers are amazing!
We people of the fifties grew up with "American Bandstand" so that appeal will always be there for me.

My wife likes to watch it too. She also is no fan of Chas. I watched it the first couple of years just to be a good guy, but lately I listen to tunes in the cave instead. I gotta admit that the judge, Bruno, cracks me up.

I was going to say something about a girly-girl, but I remembered the time when Rudolph Nureyev appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, being proclaimed the world's greatest athlete.
