Sucks. I'd like to tell the entire Middle East, including Israel, to go to hell. I'm so tired of all those crazy bastids................

We are wasting our money fighting other people's wars in the Middle East. Trade arms for oil and let them fight among themselves.

Obama talked himself into a corner.
One should leave all red line statements to the Israelis.
Furthermore there is that nagging question: Is the red line
a manufactured one? There is a huge incentive for the Syrian opposition
to produce the red line.

So we are joining the Taliban to fight Assaud huh, man how stupid can you get? Well, we did pay Bin Laden to fight the Russians in Afghanistan. We all know how well that worked out.

Catch-22
Do you want Assad to win, who has killed his own people with bullets and Sarin gas.
Or do you want the opposition Rebels, whose allies include Muslim extremists.
this is a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, between the Sunnis and Shias
I would take out the guy using Sarin first, then worry about everything else later.
I would use surgical strikes on Assad military targets
the country is lost already anyway

SO why get involved at all. It's not going to change a single thing.....?

You need to send a message that chemical weapons are not acceptible at any time or any place.
There are many innocent people in Syria who do not need to have chemical gas targeted at them.
Assad will not come back. I should have sad not lost, but any sort of strategic goals for nation building will be on hold until this thing has played out.
it is a quagmire. I do not want boots on the ground.
However if the actual existence of Israel is someday threatened by this war you can bet we will intervene.

If we can't even control the crime problem in Chicago, what do we expect to accomplish over there?
I say let them kill one another, and then cut a deal with whoever is left standing. By inserting ourselves as the global mother-in-law we only piss everyone off even worse.

Haven't we already made stands against using gas in the past? Why not let some other nation or coalition of nations make these stands?
I understand the plight of the Syrian's but as Chas noted above, we have plenty of our own here at home that need those funds and attention fist.
At what point do we let Israel take care of the issues in it's own area. We send them billions every year to do just that. Why are we sending the billions then sending troops and ships and planes and.....to spend US lives and treasure?
I get that the military is your cash cow and you want it to go on making sure it stays in existence and even ramps up more but at what cost to the majority of us who reap no benefits?
