Big Ego's small minds

I just saw Rep Ross, on TV. He is proposing a travel ban o contain the Ebola outbreak.

He did not even know that there are no direct flights from the stricken areas to the US to ban.

This is typical and it's our own fault. We elect these imbecilic idiots.

But his hair was perfect and his suit of obvious quality.

I could turn this into a full blown rant but I just can't be bothered.

It's likely the staffer who prepared his statement knew, but saw no reason to complicate the message....

Most politicians IQ is lower than their age.

Allow me Ed .

The political capitalization of this minor outbreak of Ebola in the US from the right is beyond disgusting. The same can be said about how they are lying their asses off about the PPACA. There will be a special place in hell waiting for these scumbags.

So what does the lack of direct flights have to do with anything? The question - and its a legit question - is whether points of entry should be closed to individuals traveling from Sierra Leone, Guinea or Liberia?

So, there's a special place in hell for the Prez for raising the politicization stakes by appointing a political hack as the "Ebola Czar"?

This will only prevent the citizens of the these West African countries from entering the US. For others, these countries may stop stamping the passport and using a paper insert for visitors. That's why a ban or quarantine is ineffective.

Would Dr. Murthy be an acceptable choice? It's a no win situation.
Now that Ebola has become the battle cry for the mid term elections, appointing a political hack makes more sense. It's a media war.

This is already accomplished with visas. Citizens of west Africa can't simply fly here without an entry visa (nor can citizens of Belgium, Germany or Spain where West Africans need to catch connecting flights to get here). Since 9/11, getting a visa to get into the US for most foreigners is a royal PITA.

OTOH, American citizens and residents over there have every right to come back here for treatment, just as you have a right to go anywhere you wish to treat an illness. Moron politicians trying to capitalize on Ebola (and those who buy their drivel) should STFU unless they have an MD or a Masters of Public Health.
