People are going around saying the MSNBC brass made a 'mistake.' It wasn't a mistake, it was a deliberate effort by top network executives to 'normalize' the on-air presence of a MAGA liar at a mainstream media venue. Very widespread and strong opposition forced them to reverse this time. But it shows what they want, and who's side they are on. Keep in mind that fascists gain power, when they do, with the aid of top business leaders.

I wonder how many Maga vs everybody else are actually getting news from TV any more (I certainly don’t). If it’s an ever shrinking percentage of people overall, and Trump supporters are a high percentage of that, then it stands to reason that networks would try to attract them.

What’s right and wrong has nothing to do with it. It’s just business.

^^Agreed. For hiring a known fake news propagator and election denier, one would think they would have consulted with their key on air staff, but they didn't. Even on WaPo which I have been reading for years daily, the shift is obvious.

When Trump is obviously lying, why publish the story. We are reporting both sides of a story is not a valid excuse when one side is obviously lying. (WaPo)

Bill Maher did a segment on this topic last night and I don't recall that he and the panel were able to come up with a definitive on 1st Amendment vs. cancel culture vs. not platforming crazy fuckers.

Good discussion, though.

Clear thinking is sometimes hard. But some folks deserve to be cancelled, IMHO. If a system tolerates really dangerous enemies, they will destroy the system that supports tolerance.
