Just a thought, but I feel sorry for the poor guys who have to do the pat downs.

When I worked at the joint, one day they put me shaking down the cons when they came out of the visiting room. After I patted them down, I had to make them drop their drawers, lift their privates, pull back the foreskin on their "thing" (looking for handcuff keys), then bend over and cough while I was supposed to eyeball their glory hole, looking for drugs, knives, .45's, whatever.

They might have hated it, but I despised it. Not the kind of thing this cowpoke wanted to make a career of.

And I didn't, as there are some things that even I won't do for money.

Chas

Yep, fear's a bitch: fire the media; make them sell something useful.

Any particular reason (other than profit) why we should accept passengers or packages from some parts of the world?

That's Southmessed Airlines, the original flying cattle cars.

Since you haven't flown in a while, Rob, you may be shocked to learn that Southwest is one of the few bright spots in the whole industry (along with AirTran who they just bought). The erstwhile hi-flyers (pun intended) like Delta, United and US Air are the ones that really suck nowadays, IMHO.

You mean they are actually assigning seats now? And serving something other than peanuts?

Actually no. They still have all the same practices, other than their cattle car boarding procedures have been refined a bit. It just that the other airlines have gotten so bad that Southwest looks good in comparison. They tend to arrive on time and not lose your bags, tricks that the others haven't quite yet figured out. That, and everybody now serves only pretzels or peanuts.

Yeah, deregulation has done wonders for the quality of air travel hasn't it?
