I agree no one cares about us, except as far as they can steal from us.

Heck they both work for the same people. In an aging book, Who Rules America Now, the author showed that the only time there is a fight in Congress is when the ruling class (mostly the rich) can't come to an agreement beforehand.

Yeah, if the corporation starts losing enough money, they make the CEO unpack his golden parachute and jump into a bed of pillows. Then they bring someone else in from this exclusive class who knows whose asses he must kiss to stay in the class.

I have picked up that book, but it hasn't made it to the top of the queue.

It's been a loooong time since I read it (90? 92? 88?), but I remember being impressed at the book (and somewhat saddened/disillusioned).

I've been reading scifi as a break (The Gripping Hand, 3001 {eh}, Caves of Steel)(I do like scifi ), 'bout time I picked up something serious again.

Well, kinship is pretty strong as well but when you talk about survival it all comes down to the individual. All human associations from nation to tribe to clan to nuclear family exist to facilitate the survival of the individual so that he or she can pass his or her genes on to the next generation.

Everything boils down to "me against the world". All social organization is subservient to that biological imperative.

all correct but I see this in unison with my theory

at the base level we all put ourselves first, they we contribute to the family then the tribe then to the.....
It seems logical to me that a one world government is a natural extension

I think we agree that it is predicated on what ever is best for the person at the bottom that motives one to adapt or reject the tribe

Create more "business friendly environments" for themselves through bribery and such. We are already seeing this, and have for a while, but I believe they will continue to accrue power until they have rendered most governments impotent.

Mere puppets with the corporatocracy pulling the strings.

Right, a bold face world government I doubt would ever fly if for no other reason than mentioned previously...too many people hate other people.

However, big money generally likes big money and what happens to people eventually all boils down to the money, IMO.

You know, following the news I am reaching the conclusion that if you want something really screwed up give it to private corporations. First it was AIG, then Citi, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros. et. al

Then Merck pays a big fine for Vioxx, latest was Astra Zeneca for using a drug for purposes not approved by the FDA.

Now BP is a running disater looking for places to happen, just can't seem to pick up the paper or turn on the news without hearing about another SNAFU.

It would appear that corporate Mahogany Rows are filled with incompetents who would have great difficulty locating their gluteous maximus with both paws.

Our masters. Ya buy 'em books, ya send 'em to skool, ya give 'em yer trust, and none of the bastards, corporate or government, can run a railroad. Actually, the corporations could not only run a railroad, but build one as well. Once they lobbied for and received Gubbmitt freebies.

Gotta have 'em, but the more they leave me to be, the better I like it.

After all, I AM smart enough to pour piss out of a boot...even without their help.
