I've owned this album since mid 70's. That makes me feel OLD.
I have had that album since 1979 when I bought it....I feel old too.
I just cannot bring myself to give my high school albums to the thrift yet...

I bought the Japanese London CD of that in Okinawa in 1990 for a whopping $30 bucks (very expensive back then) and still have it ...that was 23 years ago and I feel old even for that !

I passed on a Gli BD-1600 Pro DJ table at the GW they wanted $80 bucks....I was tempted to take the AT cart on the headshell but I did not want to cross over into the lowlife brigade.

Well the Zenith all in one did a number on them as I did not take care of them like I should have. I still see those Allegro speakers at all the thrifts.

I have a few of my Beatles albums at the office and still play them.
The most Avant Garde things I have from that time is Public Image Ltd Flowers of Romance and Third Reich and Roll by the Residents. Oddly, I would have been too "afraid" to buy any of Zappa's music at the time.

Couple of nice ones!

I know how it went back in the day. The Sears AM/FM, record player, 8-track cassette all in one with the 3" speakers did not treat the albums as nice as it should have. All of our (my older bother and mine) albums "disappeared" when we mode from AK to MO so it didn't matter much. We'd pretty much moved on to cassette for portability anyway....

Good for you.

I had a pristine Micro Seiki DD24 on consignment at a kid's record store, and some asshole stole the head shell to get the cheap assed Shure M92. A proper replacement head shell costs $50, if you can find one.

Then this kid piled a bunch of shit on top of it and scarred the dustcover. I finally gave it away.

Yeah I really hate that...the poor guy who does buy it will have to fork over more money for a new stylus and cartridge. And I know if it is in the store for a week that headshell will be gone.

It is a pretty heavy deck....seemed in good condition. If it had been $20 I might have got it.

I am actually listening to an Akai table with a M92 right now.
