The interviews on the ground over there are very sad. One guy in broken English said 'My heart is broken. I spent the night with children's bodies.' Even sadder after a fashion was a lady washing clothes while bawling.

A profound irony in this tragedy is that it occurred during the 2013 UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw. Here is a speech by the Philippine representative to the conference, Naderev "Yeb" Saño.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SSXLIZkM3E

Twisting irony into the grotesque, this speech in Warsaw was simply an echo of the speech given by the same representative at the 2012 Climate Change conference in Doha, Qatar. It was during that conference that Typhoon Bopha, another Category 5 "superstorm" ravaged his country.

Dumping carbon into the atmosphere and the resulting global warming doesn't have a thing to do with this?....Yeah, I'm not buying that line of bullshit either.
Good to see you back here posting John.

I have no doubt we're impacting the climate, but caught a bit on DW news about a climate think tank report, the list of climate changes' most impacted places was basically a list of the last year or two's worst storms. Um... there have been very bad storms before.

Kudos to the Philippines for the evac btw.
