Dunno, mebbe.
It can get passionate, sometimes way too personal and outright hostile.
Still, there is room for reasonable discourse without the bomb throwing, namecalling, and personal attacks.

Political discussions become pretty rough sometimes, that is natural. But this is no reason to stay away from them if there is a serious political interest.
