In mild forms, the primary symptom is a vulnerability to false equivalencies. Virulent strains, such as the current one, can cause victims to lose all moral perspective.
After I wrote about the grotesque spectacle of President Trump and Kellyanne Conway throwing their support behind accused child molester Roy Moore in Alabama’s Senate race, Trump fans answered with a flurry of whatabouts:
What about Al Franken?
What about John Conyers?
What about Bill Clinton?

Besides the obvious difference between pedophilia and ass-grabbing, Franken fessed up and apologized rather than resorting to wailing about "fake news."

Please show me a criminal conviction of Moore as a pedophile. Please show me medical records that support a diagnosis of pedophilia. They don't exist, but you have allegations, some supported by questionable facts.
Frankly, I think Moore is creepy and I wouldn't vote for the guy. But I'm pretty far from believing the guy is a "pedophile". While I understand you might enjoy throwing that word around, there's no proof of that rather substantive charge. This might help you out...its in your favorite rag...er...um...news source after all.
You want to inflate the magnitude of Moore's alleged behavior 30 years ago, while at the same time minimizing the behavior of folks like Franken and Conyers. That's all this is about. Most of the folks in elected positions within DC are frauds and phonies, and most of them have rather "flexible" ethical standards. But hey, if you think Franken and Conyers are great guys, and Bill Clinton is wonderful, that's fine. But I just don't see how you can separate their behavior from Moore.
By the way, Franken hasn't apologized for any of his behavior. I've read and listened to his so called "apologies". He's basically saying "I'm sorry they remembered it that way, and if they remembered it that way, I'm sorry they felt bad about it." What a turd.

It did not happen, Moore has said so and Trump believes him and we have Trump’s word on it. Always remember, if it is bad it is fake.

Not only are you factually challenged, you're apparently now reading words that aren't there. And you must have also failed to read the linked article. You just went straight for the attempted slam...and failed miserably. Congratulations.
Here it is again, from your favorite rag:
The outrage against the Republican Senate candidate from Alabama is entirely fitting, but the terminology is not. Moore is not a pedophile. If you believe his accusers, as we do, he is a powerful man who has serially harassed and even assaulted teenage girls.
The difference matters. Moore’s alleged crime was not a sexual orientation toward children. It was his willingness to exploit the unequal power structures of gender and age to victimize young girls who couldn’t stand up to him. To understand Moore as a monster outside medical or societal norms is to ignore the ways that his position enabled him to take advantage of his alleged victims.
Wow...he's sounding more and more like Clinton, Franken and Conyers all the time.

I was wondering when you'd point out that our Moore besmirchers don't know the definition of pedophile. I'm wondering if/when they'll figure out allegedly.
FWIW, Moore creeps me out.
