Full synthetic oils are used these days in most CNC machines (we own quite a few), and we also use them in our new delivery vehicles. Of my three cars, two use synthetic blends ('02 & '04!).
Most of all, it's ICE engines that use refined crude oils by the shiploads and are going to be replaced by EV's. City of Oakland is buying EV buses with enough charge to run an entire day.
Once again, VW is going to stop using ICE engines and so is Volvo (now Chinese owned).
