Lawyers for former President Donald J. Trump asked a federal judge on Monday night to indefinitely postpone his trial on charges of illegally retaining classified documents after he left office, saying that the proceeding should not begin until all “substantive motions” in the case had been presented and decided...
Some of the former president’s advisers have been blunt in private conversations that he is looking to winning the election as a solution to his legal problems.

Let's see what the inexperienced MAGA judge does now.

Did John Gotti ask for a delay in his trial because the trial would interfere with his ability to run his business? I don't think so.

I read up on this a bit and expectation is that if Judge (puke) Amy Cannon decides in Trumps favor, then if he does get elected, he can then have this suit dismissed by the DOJ. If she does grant the extension, apparently this does not provide a legal reason for the DOJ to appeal. So my expectation is that she will grant the extension since this is too easy an opportunity with no recourse.

Cannon surprises everyone with a 'rocket docket' for Trump's federal trial
https://www.dailykos.com/stories/202...-federal-trial
Sounds like she took her severe spanking last time seriously. Great news!
Edit: Crap, the story was wrong and has been retracted. Dammit!

WOW, simply WOW. I would have bet a lot of money she would grant the extension. Hope she stays consistent during the trial.

Read the edit. It's been retracted, the story was wrong. I highly doubt Ms. Cannon will do the right thing, sadly.

Thanks, I just did. I just read the headline, not the rest and went looking for the report.

Trump's Upcoming Trials (and counting)
- October: Trump, his children and the Trump Organization will go on trial in New York City on whether they committed tax and business fraud by changing the value of their properties to dodge taxes or trick investors.
December (maybe): This is when the government hopes to put Trump on trial about whether he hid and lied about having classified documents after he left office. If found guilty, he could face years in prison.
- January 2024: The presidential election year will start off with another defamation trial against Trump. In May, a jury agreed he sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s, and later defamed her, and they ordered him to pay Carroll $5 million. The day after that verdict, Tump went on CNN and called Carroll a “whack job” and maintained that her story is fake. Now he’s on trial for saying that.
- January 2024: He’s got another trial in New York over whether he and his company promoted a pyramid scheme while he was hosting “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Trump could be cross-examined and, depending what the jury decides, have to pay fines.
- March 2024: As the Republican presidential primary really gets going, Trump will have a criminal trial in New York City on whether he falsified business records to make hush money payments to an adult-film star during the 2016 presidential campaign.
And we still have Fani Willis and Jack Smith about to lower their big hammers.
Career criminal just can't catch a break.
