I Just finished a recap and grill recover on my brother's KLH 5's. Not the last
word in speakers but they sound waayyy better with the Daytons than the
old Temple/ Mexico caps. They had become so muddy on the top end they
were very annoying. Listening to them now at the office via ipod and
Marantz 2226b. He's in for a treat when we hook them back up to his system.

I have had an orphan KLH 5 sitting in my garage for 3 years waiting for another one which has never shown up...I did test it the tweeters are dead but even so I can tell the 5 is much better than any large Advent or KLH 6 or 17.

A feel good moment for a Royals rookie. In his third game, he had not yet driven in a run. Then he got 4 in one swing. For icing, because of a promotion, a lucky fan gets $25,000 when a Royal hits a slam in the 6th inning. His first RBI and first homer earned 25 grand for a fan. That would make me feel good.

How about some good news for a change?

The good news from my little corner of the world is that my son accepted a job that has adoption assistance as part of their benefit package. I'm hoping for a grandchild in the future.
I am hoping for you too.

My grand children are very special.

An update....
No grandchildren yet.
The company with adoption benefits jerked my son around on hours so that he couldn't earn enough to pay the bills. He has since gone on to another job.

But, I enjoy the children next door and others close to us. Children are enjoyed no matter how they come into our life.

Great attitude...just like my wife. We helped in taking care of some children in the neighborhood whose father had abandon them. This summer they (now all grown up and doing well) paid us a special visit to show their gratitude.

For my wife especially that was a heart warming event.

My neighbor's lawn mower broke so I have been keeping an eye on her lawn and mowing it as needed.

The beautiful part is when her and her family comes outside when they hear the mower and they help along with trim work. That half hour feels like good ole-fashioned community.

Community is good, and never old-fashioned.

Kudos for your neighborly efforts.
