Solar Eclipse

Fun fact a total eclipse happened in 1776 at the birth of this country.

""It will be the first total eclipse visible only in the USA since the country was founded in 1776.""

(Wrong there was one in 1918 also!)

Now to have another this year. A sign of things to come maybe?

Yes, it should be. I live in the path of totality and they have closed the shop for that day so it should be a good show, albeit short. They are predicting about 500,000 extra people in the area because of our location. We only have a population of 150,000 covering central Oregon's three big counties, so that will effectively triple it. The stores are already having issues keeping things in stock. The traffic is projected to be a nightmare. The main highways going through here are two lane with an occasional passing lane. Nothing built for big city traffic. I imagine it will be rush hour 24/7 for about a week.

It will probably rain here! Around 1330 IIRC!

I'm not gonna travel to see it. Backwards using a colander and the concrete driveway are my plans.
