GOP field is winnowing

Latest news on the GOP presidential candidates, about six of them are broke or soon to go broke. This should narrow the field very soon. Interesting that all six are career politicians while Trump, Carson and Fiorina are the front runners. So only six standing up at the next debate?

Six cash-strapped Republican White House hopefuls face tipping point
Quote:
The six are: Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former New York Governor George Pataki, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum.
Quote:
"They are living on the edge," said Lawrence Noble, former general counsel to the Federal Election Commission."We are getting close to the time when a lot of these candidates are going to say, 'We can't do it, it can't be done,'" said Noble, now a senior attorney with the Campaign Legal Center, a campaign finance non-profit.

No, but I didn't think Trump or Carson had a chance either, but they are leading the field. I thought Jeb would walk away with it. He's still got a good chance though because the big money players want him.

Superpacs....are the candidates able to pocket money from them?

Or pay a son or daughter a $100k salary for being a campaign consultant?

Then have it go back to daddy or mommy?

Great to see those asshats as much fiscally bankrupt as they are morally bankrupt.

I think pretty much everyone thought that Bush, or maybe Rubio, would sail into the nomination. And who knows? They still might get it after the Republican base comes out of the ether.

On the one hand, it doesn't surprise me that these three assholes - sorry, they really are assholes - have excited the Republican base. What surprises me is the amount of big money Carson and Fiorina have attracted. (Trump's using his own big money.)

Who knew billionaires could be so stupid??

Answer to your question is going to be murky but from the article I linked, Perry's SuperPac returned the money to the donors.

Infighting is brewing in Florida.
Trump is already battling Bush and Carly, Carson and Trump are joined at the waist, Kasich is looking on and Cruz is lurking in the background. I do love political fights, brings out the real 'me' in them.

The rivalry between Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio just burst out into the open

Quote:
The campaigns of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) publicly traded barbs Thursday over the reports, each trying to outdo the other over which campaign was thriftier and in better position going forward.
So Rubio is not going to be Jeb's VP afterall?

I dunno. Saint Ronnie and Rubbers had some pretty rough patches in 1980.

We have the master-protegee dynamic at work with unfulfilled promises perhaps.
