Well, I'll be. It seems that Dubya and the Congressional GOP were up to their eyeballs in the Solyndra affair after all.

Just to beat them to the punch---"Well, yeah, but if it breaks on Obamas watch, he owns it."

"....
This doesn’t mean that Bush is to blame for Solyndra or that the Obama administration should be absolved. Obama, whose administration gave the company the loan guarantee, deserves the black eye that Republicans have given him over the half a billion dollars squandered on the company.
....."
The GOP may have created the program, but Obama slammed through a nice payoff to a supporter.

What you said is certainly the conventional wisdom. However, it seems Dubya and Co. did a preliminary screening and picked Solyndra as one of its "winners" in the program. My point is that this type of stuff is unfortunately bipartisan (refer to my previous post on Halliburton).

It is. However the GOP nixed the loan to Solyndra - Obie & co OK'd it. It's a lot of money.

All true. However, if you read the article, you see that the same GOP congressional clowns criticizing the Solyndra deal favored it under Dubya. I guess when it comes to slinging sh!t, they can have it both ways.

They created the program or at least agreed with it. They DENIED loan guarentees to Solyndra. Obama OK'd them.

No matter who approves any dealings with the government there will be questionable backroom goings on. With all the lobbyist, campaign contributions putting pressure on our elected leaders they have very little time to think about the constituents best interests.
If the light of day was to hit any deal worked out it would show a "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours " was done.
